Data ResQ - Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy for Data ResQ

Effective Date: September 23, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Data ResQ ("Data ResQ", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the Data ResQ Android application (the "App").

Data ResQ is designed to help users scan accessible storage on their Android devices and locate potentially recoverable photos, videos, documents, and other supported files.

1. Information We Access

Depending on your Android version, device configuration, and the permissions you grant, Data ResQ may access information stored on your device in order to provide its recovery and scanning features.

This may include:

Data ResQ only accesses storage and information that Android makes available to the App and that is necessary for the App's functionality.

2. How We Use Information

Information accessed by Data ResQ is used primarily to provide the functionality of the App, including:

3. Local Processing

Your personal files are important. Data ResQ is designed to perform its file scanning and recovery functionality locally on your Android device. Your personal photos, videos and documents are not uploaded to our servers simply for the purpose of performing a local recovery scan.

Data ResQ does not require you to create an account in order to use the core file scanning and recovery functionality.

4. Storage Permissions

Data ResQ may request access to photos, videos, files, or other storage resources depending on the Android version and features being used.

These permissions are used to scan and identify files that are accessible to the App and to allow you to recover or save selected files.

You can control permissions through your Android device settings. Restricting required permissions may prevent certain Data ResQ features from functioning properly.

5. Deleted Data and Recovery Limitations

Data ResQ cannot guarantee recovery of every deleted file.

Modern Android versions use storage security, application sandboxing, encryption, filesystem protections, and other technologies that can limit access to deleted data. Whether a deleted file can be found depends on factors including your device, Android version, storage type, filesystem, deletion method, available permissions, and whether the storage space has been reused.

Data ResQ only accesses information that Android and the device make available to the App. A file that has been permanently removed or overwritten may not be recoverable.

6. Data Sharing

Data ResQ does not sell your personal information.

We do not intentionally share the personal files you select or scan with third parties for their own purposes.

If the App uses third-party services in the future, this Privacy Policy may be updated to explain the relevant data practices before or when those services are introduced.

7. Third-Party Services

Data ResQ may use third-party services where necessary to support, maintain, secure, analyze, distribute, or monetize the App.

Such third-party providers may process limited information according to their own privacy policies and applicable requirements.

Where applicable, third-party services may include services provided by Google or other technology providers.

We encourage users to review the privacy policies of relevant third-party services when applicable.

8. Advertising

If advertising is enabled in Data ResQ, advertisements may be provided by third-party advertising providers. These providers may collect or use certain information, such as advertising identifiers or device information, in accordance with their own policies and applicable consent requirements.

The availability and behavior of advertising features may vary by version, region, device, and applicable requirements.

9. Analytics and Diagnostics

We may use analytics, crash reporting, or diagnostic services to understand application performance, identify technical problems, and improve Data ResQ.

Such services may collect limited technical information such as application version, device information, operating system information, crash information, and diagnostic data, subject to the policies of the relevant service provider.

10. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information associated with Data ResQ and to reduce the risk of unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

However, no method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

11. Children's Privacy

Data ResQ is not specifically directed toward children under the age required by applicable law.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable laws. If you believe that a child has provided personal information through the App inappropriately, please contact us so that we can review the matter.

12. Your Choices

You can control the permissions granted to Data ResQ through your Android device settings.

You may also uninstall Data ResQ at any time. Uninstalling the App removes the App and its locally stored application data from the device, subject to Android's normal system behavior and any files that you separately saved or recovered.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to Data ResQ, applicable laws, or our data practices.

When changes are made, the updated version will be made available at the location where this Privacy Policy is published. The effective date at the top of this page will also be updated.
